What to Expect when Participating in Clinical Trials
Clinical trial participants provide a valuable service to the medical research community. Although a considerable number of people are intrigued by the personal and financial rewards of volunteering for medical studies, most never register with a testing facility. Some assume they need to be diagnosed with a specific condition to qualify; others are somewhat apprehensive because they don't know what to expect.
We get it. Many participants registering with our facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Phoenix, Arizona, had similar misconceptions and a lot of questions. For the finer points of participation in our paid clinical trials, we generally recommend connecting with a Celerion customer care representative. But we can provide an overview. Once you understand how our processes work and what a typical study looks like from a participant's point of view, consider taking a few minutes to see how many you may qualify for.
Paid Clinical Trial Opportunities Explained
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory agencies require rigorous product testing before pharmaceutical and biotech companies are allowed to bring over-the-counter and prescription medications to market. The work we do at Celerion provides the companies enlisting our services with unbiased data.
When an FDA-reviewed medication meets the criteria for further testing, our scientists and physicians review each study to ensure the safety of our participants. As the first Clinical Research Organization (CRO) in the US to achieve certification by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc (AAHRPP), our comprehensive protections exceed federal requirements.
How to Find Clinical Trials to Participate In
Most Celerion paid clinical trials require participation from healthy individuals. You'll find the details of each opportunity on our website. Our clinical trial participants are paid through our Hyperwallet platform (or preferred alternative) and can transfer their funds directly into their bank account.
We offer two ways to get started with clinical studies that pay. You can contact a live representative or create your profile online. You'll be asked to provide your name, contact information, age, gender, race, ethnicity, and medical history. After completing your profile, you're welcome to go to the "Studies" page on our website. Once you've selected a study, you'll be asked to schedule an in-person screening that includes a physical exam and lab work. You'll also learn the purpose of the investigationalmedication being tested and its potential side effects. You'll be notified if you've been selected to participate.
What to Expect When You Arrive for a Clinical Trial
On the day you check in to our facility for your trial, a Celerion study manager will provide more information about what you can expect during your stay. We strive to make participation as enjoyable as possible. Although every clinical trial that pays has a defined schedule of events, our facilities have a large-screen television, computers, internet access, a variety of games, reading areas, and an outdoor courtyard. You'll be assigned a sleeping area and may have a roommate of the same gender. Most often, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an evening snack are provided.

During the first phase of a clinical trial, participants are given a small amount of the medication under investigation. The biological samples and other relevant data collected help researchers understand how that substance is stored, metabolized, and utilized in the body. Participation helps people in your community and around the world.
